Departing from the picturesque lakefront town of Te Anau, our tours offer more than just a boat ride. We take you deep into remote river systems and pristine lakes, surrounded by ancient forests and soaring mountain peaks.
At the heart of our adventure is the Pure Wilderness tour. This high-energy jet boat ride powers down the majestic Waiau River famously known as the Anduin River in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Feel the rush as you navigate crystal-clear waters and trout-rich stretches, eventually emerging onto the tranquil shores of Lake Manapouri for a moment of breathtaking solitude.

Between the high-speed spins, you’ll enjoy informative commentary about the region's unique ecosystem. We pause for easy walks through native bush, allowing you to connect with the remarkable flora and fauna that define Fiordland’s status as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
For travelers wanting to maximise their time in Te Anau, Fiordland Jet offers a variety of scenic "combos" that showcase the region from every angle.
Combine the power of a jet boat with the steady pace of a cycle. Our river and bike combos allow you to experience the scenic trails bordering the Waiau River, offering a perfect balance of adrenaline and exercise in the fresh alpine air.

Take your Fiordland experience to new heights by pairing your jet boat tour with a helicopter flight or seaplane transfer. These combos offer a bird's-eye view of the vast wilderness before you dive into the heart of the river canyons. Whether you want high-speed thrills or peaceful discovery, we capture the unforgettable essence of the wild South.
