By having close relationships with all our partners on the ground in New Zealand and by getting to know you as well as we can, we can create a triangle of understanding and trust that will make sure that your holiday is exactly right. That may sound a bit like sales talk but it really is true and does make all the difference. This is always a tricky question because, as with most things in life, within reason you can spend as little or as much as you like on a holiday.
Essentially, when we start planning your holiday we will be looking at the overall experience that will be right for you rather than just helping you to spend your budget. First, we will work with you to develop an itinerary that will be based around your interests and then we can move on to the accommodation, tours and trips that you feel will be appropriate depending on your budget and preferences.
But we do need to give you a rough idea. The cost of the selected, trusted accommodation that we use tends to start from about £150 (US$250, €180) per night for two people. And we also use places that cost £250 (US$400, €300) per night or £500 (US$800, €600) or more so we will be completely guided by you and make recommendations accordingly.
So, a 3 week self-drive tour of New Zealand would start from £3,000 per person based on two people sharing, excluding international flights. This would include a mixture of accommodation including some boutique properties such as Hotel DeBrett in Auckland or Adrift in Golden Bay and car hire, with the option of adding-on a variety of sight-seeing tours such as an aerial whale watch from Kaikoura, a Farewell Spit safari, a full day of wilderness jet boating and an overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound. And flight costs will vary greatly depending on class of travel, airline, route and time of year.
And will it cost more to arrange your holiday with us rather than doing it yourself? Yes, a little. If you were to piece together an itinerary yourself, using internet reviews and guidebooks to decide what you will do and where you will stay, and then booking everything direct, including transfers, car hire, ferries and sightseeing tours, it would be a few percent cheaper.
What we will do for that few percent is take responsibility for the quality of your holiday experience and provide dedicated support, both here in the UK and whilst you are travelling in New Zealand. And we will share our personal knowledge and experience with you to create your holiday, with a total commitment to doing what is best for you.
