The Lord of the Rings is just a taste...

Dave and Mary Adamiak are big travellers but there was one destination clearly absent from their list of places they have visited.  Well New Zealand is now at the top of their list of favourites!

They were keen to explore the diversity of NZ and their holiday took them all the way from Cape Reinga in the far north of the North Island to the Catlins in the far south of the South.

In between they experienced Maori culture in Rotorua, the dramatic and wild west coast of the South Island and the jaw dropping scenery of Fiordland

Having seen and enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies, they also took the opportunity to visit some of the locations that were showcased so dramatically on the big screen including the green rolling country of Waikato (the Shire and Hobbiton), the volcanic plateau of Tongariro National Park (Mordor) and the mountain tundra of the Mackenzie Country (Rohan and Pelennor Fields).

When you are visiting new and distant lands it can be very difficult to know how to make the best of your time and other precious resources.

The regular guide books are fine if you have the time to digest the masses of information and are able to figure out what bits are "must do" and what bits are "not so exciting"?

This is where New Zealand In Depth came to the rescue when we decided to visit New Zealand. Their personal attention paid huge dividends. Their first hand knowledge of the islands together with an assessment of our interests allowed them to identify the locations we should visit and then plan our personal itinerary from start to finish.

This, together with taking care of all our travel and accommodation needs meant that all we had to do was to enjoy a fantastic 3 weeks. Thank you NZID!
