They are only a days drive apart on Highway 73 and Highway 6 that link Christchurch to the Glaciers and Queenstown. Their location is simply stunning. They are carefully landscaped into forest clearings with magnificent views from the rooms, restaurants and lounge areas. Accommodation is in stylish rooms with each lodge featuring gourmet cuisine, an extensive wine list and an exceptionally high standard of service. Nature discovery is a centrepiece of both lodges. A network of walking trails radiates from the lodges to the surrounding forest, rivers and lakes. At either lodge, guests can just relax and enjoy the natural peace and beauty, explore walks on their own or join the lodge nature guides on the daily nature adventure programme.

Wilderness Lodge Lake Moeraki has 24 attractive Rainforest Rooms and 4 luxurious new Riverview Lodges set in the untouched rainforest of the South West New Zealand World Heritage Area. On the banks of the Moeraki River, the Lodge is close to Lake Moeraki and the Tasman Sea coast. It is a civilised oasis amongst towering trees and fish filled rivers and the coast is home to fur seals and Fiordland Crested penguins from June to December. The location is remote but the lodge offers warm friendly hospitality and stylish comfort. Guided trips offered include a variety of shorter and full day guided walks and canoe adventures. These include rainforest bird walks, exploring coastal wetlands, feeding giant tame eels, beachcombing for gemstones and observing fur seals and penguins.

Wilderness Lodge Arthur's Pass has 20 stylish Mountain View Rooms and 4 luxurious Alpine Lodges all with magnificent views. Located on its own 2,400 hectare (6,000 acre) nature reserve and authentic working sheep station, the farm has 4,500 merino sheep. Surrounded by Arthur's Pass National Park and in the heart of the Southern Alps , this is a land of wide valleys, tawny tussock, trout-filled rivers and kea parrots. The Lodge offers a variety of shorter and full day naturalist guided walks and canoe safaris. These include alpine flower, mountain and waterfall trips, limestone cave exploration, fly-fishing and sheepdog mustering. Those who don't want to be quite so active can relax in the lounge, library or restaurant and enjoy the stunning views, service and extensive wine selection.
