"The Mussel Bed" newly built in 2003, is nestled amidst native bush, gardens and streams with only a 5 min walk to beautiful Cooks Beach.

Cooks Beach is approximately 2-3 hours from the main centres Auckland , Tauranga and Hamilton and is an excellent location to enjoy beach life and to take in our main tourist attractions - Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove which are only 10 mins drive from our B&B. Enjoy quiet country roads for cycling and easy walking tracks to secluded bays and white, sandy beach from our B&B. The famous Eggsentric Restaurant at Flaxmill Bay nearby, has live entertainment and an excellent choice of seafood dishes. A new restaurant in Cooks Beach opened recently which is only a 5 min walk from the Mussel Bed and we also have some excellent cafes and restaurants at Whitianga, which is only a short ride on the passenger ferry at the end of our road.
Pacifica room
The guest wing has 3 luxurious suites tastefully designed, each with their own ensuite and private deck. Choose from 2 spacious double rooms with queen size beds - the Victorian or the Pacifica Suite - or the Beach Hut suite accommodates 2-4 people, with twin beds on the loft floor and queen size bed below. Guests can enjoy a delicious continental breakfast served on their deck, garden or in the privacy of their room. We have golf clubs, tennis racquets, games, petanque, sand spades, beach towels, cycles & kayaks for use on the estuary at the edge of our property for the entertainment of our guests. Our rooms are partially serviced daily and linen changed & room fully serviced after the third night of stay. Fresh fruit bowls, homebaking, bathrobes are complimentary and we have on-site parking. With Whitianga, Hot Water Beach & Cathedral Cove nearby, "The Mussel Bed" is an ideal base to explore the beautiful Coromandel!
