Hosts Jeff & Helena Barrow and their team give their Guests a wonderfully warm welcome and make them feel thoroughly at home and with only 7 guest cottages (maximum 14 guests), there is always an intimate and friendly ambience at the lodge.
The lodge is set in lovely grounds and facilities include a spa complete with jacuzzi and Finnish sauna and a fine dining restaurant where the chef Ruth prepares superb five course dinners made with the finest locally sourced produce.

Maruia River Lodge can be many things: an exclusive fly-fishing lodge; a luxury riverside retreat where you can escape from it all to relax and be pampered; a comfortable base from which to explore the magnificent countryside whether from the air, by 4WD or on foot; a great location for exhilarating water sports such as jet-boating, kayaking and white-water rafting.
The lodge offers fine angling in particular being in one of the best brown trout fly fishing areas in the world and expert guiding can be arranged.
