Grasmere Lodge
With a maximum of 26 guests, Grasmere Lodge is the New Zealand equivalent of an English country house hotel where an intimate number of guests can receive personal attention, relax and can get to know each other. Dinner is served at a single table, although private dining for romance or business can be arranged. The emphasis is very much on relaxing - jacket and tie are not required.

Welcoming rooms
Grasmere is set at an altitude of 700 metres in the heart of the South Island but is still dwarfed by the 1800 metre mountain behind. From the lodge veranda, Lake Grasmere can be seen surrounded by tussock-covered hills and the Southern Alps beyond. It is a very peaceful scene but the landscape is wild and dramatic and certainly invites exploration.

The Lodge in winter dwarfed by the mountain behind
Being quiet and secluded, the lodge is the perfect place to simply relax but in the appropriate season the lodge can arrange fishing guides, bush walks and picnics, 4WD excursions, skiing at two commercial and three club ski fields or heliskiing, clay-pigeon shooting, and horse treks. The tariff includes complimentary use of the heated outdoor swimming pool, kayaks, mountain bikes and tennis, croquet and boules equipment. Grasmere boasts its own spa with resident therapists all year and the lodge staff are also happy to show guests seasonal farm activities.
Grasmere Lodge is proud to has achieved the prestigious Green Globe Benchmarked Certificate, recognising our dedication to operating at the world's highest environmental standard.
